Loft Conversion & Side Extension

This is a home for a growing family, and Marlin Design was tasked with finding more space. The loft had already been converted and the owners were using it as their Bedroom, with a small Ensuite shower room. However space was a premium so we added a much need rear dormer, which has substantially increased the space and made the room much more useable.
To the side of the property a single storey side extension has nearly doubled the kitchen size as well as providing a much needed utility room, cloakroom and storage space to the front, which retains the look of a garage. By thinking about the relationship of the steelwork design and the Kitchen layout, we have been able to provide all the necessary structural support to the upper floors with one column contained within the Kitchen Island.
