As work proceeds ever upwards a new tin lid has now been installed to protect the work force, structure and materials from the elements. With Winter fast approaching time is now of the essence to get the extension water tight.
The scaffolders have been busy in erecting this complex network of platforms and trusses to support the corrugate tin roof that will cover the whole area.
With the external wall heading towards wallplate level, the roof structure will soon be going in to form the crown roof. This is a simple method of matching the pitch of the existing roof and keeping the new roof level below that of the existing, with a flat roof over the top. With modern materials to the flat area of the crown roof, maintenance will not be an issue and access should not be required.
