This Edwardian detached home in Bishop’s Stortford was extended by MARLIN Design in 2013 to create a smart open plan Kitchen/Diner with Bi-folding doors accessing the rear garden. As the roof of the main house was finished with plain tiles, the extension needed to be done the same so that each complemented the other. However the pitch of the extension roof was so shallow that normal plain tiles were not an option. Having done some research into the alternatives available on the market, we were able to use a new interlocking plain tile which was able to work on pitched roofs a shallow as 14.5 degrees. The client is now emigrating to Australia with the family and the property is passing into new ownership.
